These are all threads that are only gently introduced in this first episode, and they could hopefully be pulled together in really profound ways. And it's worth noting that earlier in the episode, Torres seemed very interested in certain online conspiracy theories regarding Captain America. When Sam watches the footage later, you can tell that this type of strength looks familiar to him. It's there where we meet their leader-a man with superhuman strength. This certainly evokes images of recent events. Then, later, Torres attends an IRL Flag Smashers meet-up which quickly turns into them putting on masks and storming and robbing some sort of government building.
